Novemeber 9th, 2008 pm
It is 6:47 pm. The day started out pretty good for Mary today as was told in my last entry. So far, the day has continued to be a day that will be remembered. This afternoon they had Mary in a recliner, which they have done before. She is more in an upright position, but reclined back. It just gives her a little different position. While my Mom and Regan were in setting with Mary, she became a little anxious and began really moving around. She was actually trying to get out of the chair. They called me in so we could try to calm her down a little bit. We did, but this time she remained more alert that she has yet. My Mom began talking to her and Mary was understanding what she was saying. She was working so hard to communicate to us. She was asked who I was while I was looking at her. She replied "My Husband". Obviously, my heart filled with joy. Mom asked her if she knew who Regan was, while she looked her in the eye. Mary replied "My baby girl". She also new Alex as "my son". These little steps, in my eyes were big ones. They helped us all realize that Mary is in there. She knew us. Then Mary asked for her Mommy. Within seconds Darlene was by her side and just like in real life, she calmed down. Mary and her Mom have always had a very special relationship filled with love and trust. She feels very safe with her. Mary's mom suggested that we always have a familiar face that she will see when she wakes up. Whatever time it may be. Mary and I are both fortunate to have wonderful, loving families. We are all in this together. As I am writing this, Morse and Darlene are in the room with their baby girl. Just there for her. Please keep praying. Thanks.

It is so wonderful to hear that Mary is doing so well. I know its a long road, but Mary has so many people praying for her and she's so strong, that I hope it won't be too long! Sunshine always tells me what a wonderful strong family you are. Please let me know if there is anything we can do. If Regan needs a ride to or from the hospital, or there is a day that you need someone to stay with Mary, we would be happy to do whatever we can. In the mean time, we will keep praying.

I know I don't know your family well, but as I read your words, I'm crying with joy that she has come so far in such a short time. I know that this will only continue to happen.
I'm so glad you started the blog! I am eager to log on each day and read how she is doing. Especially today since I didn't make it to the hospital to see my sister. She was moved out of ICU today but I will be sure to stop by and check in sometime when I am up there.
I put Mary and your family on our prayer chain at church this morning. God has already had his hand in this by giving you this road to go down. He won't leave you now!!
May God Bless!
I am so glad to hear more improvements she having. Each day will improve more. The speech comes back in time with alittle help from therpy. But one thing is great her mind is sharp and she does seen to know who you and your children are.. I always tell my children you always need your mommy does not matter how old you are. I felt the same way about my mother. It a bond motherand daughter share that can never be broken.Prayers do work it just takes baby steps to get there.

Cousin Mary, we are praying for you all the time. We are also keeping Scott, Alex, and Regan in our hearts. I told the kids how important cousins are and they agree. There is something extra special when a child prays. We are a very lucky family. We look forward to more updates. Hang in there.
