November 11, 2008 am
It is 7:20 am. I really don't have a lot to report this morning. Mary was comfortable throughout the entire night. She became alert when the doctors and nurses awoke her and completed her tests (wiggle your toes etc...). She still was able to do that on the right side. Her brother Dave spent most of the night with her last night. He drove in mainly just to do that. Mary's Mom spent some of it with her also. I got a pretty descent night of sleep. If I get any more information during the daytime, I will write another message during the daytime to keep you informed of any updates. I hope that she will wake up a little bit more today and be a little more responsive. We will see what the day holds. Keep Praying please. Thanks.

Good Morning Scott, Mary, and family. I posted a comment earlier, but somehow it did not send. I will do my best to repeat. You are all truly blessed to have each other through these most difficult times. Patience is a virtue. God works within us every day. Please keep your strength and remain balanced for God is with us every step of the way. Mary you are so blessed to have the most loving family surrounding you. The energy is great. Keep the energy coming through prayer and belief. Mary, you seem to enjoy reading. What are your favorite books, magazines, articles? The Bible is probably hidden there somewhere. The many stories you may or may not have heard. The familiar voices around you will bring those stories to life. Keep the strength. God be with you,now and always. We are praying for you now and always for a speedy recovery.

I hope you receive both comments or at least one. I have no idea how to do this. It's not as easy as it looks, but nothing ever is. I'll keep trying as I know you do every second of every minute of every hour of every day.
reading for today - John 3:8 "...The Wind blows wherever it please. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is, with everyone born of the Spirit."
Scott,
Just want you to know that even though I can't be there with you everyday, my thoughts and prayers are....I just know she is going to make a full recovery....there's just a long journey ahead. I brought home Chinese from Hy-Vee last night and the fortune read...The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step....of course made me think of you and Mary....stay strong....and see ya soon...

Your sis...

Hi Scott and Regan,
I am glad that you started this blog for Mary. I read it daily and it helps me cope on what happended to Mary. I am Marc Amarillas mom. Regan and Marc have known each other for a very long time. He was over to see Mary and your family at Barnes and hooked me up with this web site. My prayers are with you. You must try and rest as much as you can. I went thru a similar situation with my mother and prayer and rest got me thru it. If there is anything we can do please let us know. I also work at BCBS. (hope this made it thru this time)
I am at a complete loss of words, I can only hope that all these messages help you deal with the tremendous weights you guys must be carrying.

Scott,
Hang in there. Brain traumas require a long recovery and lots of rehabilitation. She needs everyone to be patient with her and reassuring. She will have some good days and some not so good days, but I feel confident she will make a good recovery. She is headed in the right direction and she has the best doctors caring for her. Be strong and feel encouraged by the progress she has already made. Take care and God bless. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Scott, Mary and family.
We know that this is a tough time for all of you but we have all the faith in the world that Mary is going to make a full recovery. We think about you guys every day---many times a day---and we want you all to know that we are sending our love and prayers to you, hoping to give you all strength in this trying time. Scott, you and Mary are truly blessed in having each other. Love is a strong instrument and if anything will give Mary the strength to heal and be well again it is because you are by her side and she feels the love that you have for her. We have every confidence that, even though there is a long road ahead of you both, that it will end with complete healing. It is truly a miracle in this day and age to have two people who go together so well and who love each other unconditionally. Know that we are thinking of you and you are always in our thoughts and prayers. Know that if any of you need anything all you have to do is ask. Scott, Alan will be in touch soon. We are thinking of coming down that way on Thursday to see you. If you need us to bring you anything on Thursday please let us know.
We love you all.
