November 17th, 2008 pm

It is 5:21 pm. I am writing this from a laptop that a good friend loaned to me to use while I am up here. Thanks Alan, is means a lot. Morey and Rita came for another visit today, and it's always great to see them. They just happened to be here on the day that I toured the rehab facility that Mary will be going to. In case anyone wants to look at it via the web, their website is www.rehabinstitutestl.com. They accompanied me on the visit, which I really appreciated the extra set of eyes and ears. After going there, I truly believe that this is where Mary needs to be. I still haven't talked to the doctor yet today. He has not been on rounds yet. I will let you know when I find out. I think it may be fairly soon though. Mary had a good day today. She still had a little confusion, but it was better today. The big step that she made today was she passed her swallowing test, and will now be on regular soft food, and liquids. She had the feeding tube removed from her nose today. Actually she removed it herself, but that's a whole other story. She still remains restless in her bed, as she really wants out of it. She keeps asking the nurses, if she's ready to go yet. It will be sooner than she may think. She looks more comfortable with the tube out of her nose now. You can see more of her pretty face. She is smiling more, and definitely getting more feisty. She told me today to quit bugging her. Just like at home. She's doing good, I just want her to continue down the road she is going. Rich and Mike came by late this afternoon before their flight down to Orlando. When they went in to see Mary, she greeted them with a "Hey guys!". I love it when Mary recognizes friends. She sent them off with "Have a good time in Orlando". I thought that was awesome. Slowly, she keeps coming on. Keep it coming honey, just keep it coming. Thanks again for the prayers. Please keep them coming too. Thanks.

Scott
I will say a prayer for you because as the caretaker you can not let yourself get down. I know it's hard but let some of your families help as much as possible so you can keep your strength and peace of mind. Mary is going to need you a lot more soon. I'm so glad to hear of her improvements. You know it's that stubborn streak in her wanting to get out of that bed. She's going to show all of you when she gets in rehab. Take
care I think of you both every day.

Scott,
I know this is my first time writing to you on this blog , but don't think I haven't been thinking about you guys all the time. Thanks for all the texts , you know I am glad you finally learned a while back how to do that. Work is going good, but we do miss seeing you there. I got it all under control so don't worry about a thing. I pray all the time for all of you. I know Alex and Regan need strenght to do their college work , and you need it too to keep going and take care of Mary. Don't forget about yourself , it's ok. I know I talk to you at work about God and church sometimes, but God is not only at church. He is there with you . Remember that, and talk to him any time you want to talk. He always listens. I'm sure this rehab is going to work for Mary. God will see that it does , and it won't be long and you will be bringing her home. We love you guys ! Lori

Sneeze-Sneeze!

You are sooooooo good looking....
(an inside joke for Scott, Alex and Ragan) Wow! The news continues to get better with every post. Way to go Mary...
Ragan, you did an excellent job posting yesterday. You might consider doing some quest postings in the future. We could probably all use alittle more of Ragan's humor during this journey. Now about this dumb@$$ that lifted Scott's laptop, if you read this blog and don't return the laptop you had better watch Earl because you are in for a mountain of BAD KARMA. Mr. Dumb@$$, if you have taken the time to read (providing you can read) the blog and all the wounderful comments about Mary, Scott, Ragan, Alex, family and friends and the support their receiving you must know that thousands of people do NOT hold you in high regard. Enough said.
It was great seeing everybody yesterday and Mary you looked awesome. We're anxiously anticipating rehab updates and praying all goes well.

You did a Great Job Regan taking over for your Dad until he received another computer to use. Sad others can not respect others property.
Wonderful news for Mary to have the feeding tube out and passed the swallowing test and will now be on regular soft food and liquids. I know that will make her feel even better now and faster speed ahead for recovery. She has such spunk love hearing about her remarks and motions. Regan, Alex and Scott you all have a good night and stay strong......prayers keep coming your way.....Sue Kelle co work & friend<>< <>< <>< <><

Hey Scott & Cousin Mary!!!
Glad to hear all is going so well. Tell Mary that Grandma Elsie's "favorite" grand-daughter, Anne, visited with her this morning, she always asks about Mary:) You know Grandma is praying constantly! I know she'd love to come see you both. Give Mary a hug & kiss from her!

Hey Scott,
I have been following each day since returning home and also keeping up through Sarah. Isn't the amount of love and support simply amazing? God's army is truly at work, Mary is moving forward by leaps and bounds, she is so strong. I could not believe someone lifted your laptop, as Sarah told me about that Sunday, tears ran, unbelievable how people can be so cold, not a surprise how wonderful it is you have one to use. You truly have touched so many through your website, everyone has fallen in love with your family all over again. God Bless you all, sending love, hugs and prayers.
