Hello readers, it's Regan again. Dad decided that he needed to take a break from the blogs tonight. So I'm going to take another shot at it. Mom had a pretty good day today. In physical therapy she walked (with heavy assistance) 30 feet. Which is the full way that she was supposed to walk today. We don't want to sugar coat it, and make you think that she's making a miraculous recovery right now, but she's doing the best she can right now. She's getting really tired really easily. In speech therapy she had to quit a little early because her head was hurting her pretty bad. Which isn't uncommon, she was just getting worked a little too hard for a little too long. From what I've seen out of her from the past 2 days that I've been here, her spirits have just lifted so much. Lately we've been noticing that her sense of humor that we all know and love is coming back rapidly. She's cracking jokes, and she's telling us how annoying dad is, and how bossy he is! Haha, it cracks me up. You can tell that she's depressed, because she still doesn't fully understand why she is in the hospital, and why she can't just get up and go home. And it's really hard to explain to her, because she has short term memory loss for now. But we can deal with it. If she's here to learn all of those skills back, we're more than happy to help her with anything! And I know that most of you are too. And we appreciate that more than you can ever know. The blog may be very late tomorrow. Dad and I are going back home tomorrow to get some things taken care of. Keep leaving those comments! When mom is well enough to read, and to get on a computer, she's going to be reading all of your comments, to know how much everyone really loves her! Thank you! -Regan

Hi, Scott (Barry) and Regan!
I'm glad to hear that Mary had a good day and was a little less restless. I am feeling very out of the loop beings I haven't been down there since Sunday night and won't be there again until this Sunday. Everytime I'm there I see lots of improvement in Mary that I know you don't see, Scott, because you are there every day and see it much more gradually. It's been so encouraging when I've talked to her on the phone, yet it is hard knowing how far she has to go with her recovery. I wish I didn't have to work and could spend more time down there and give you more breaks. I'm glad you're getting to come home for just one day. I'm very anxious to see Mary again Sunday and hoping I can spend more time down there again next weekend. You know I love you, and I too am very thankful and appreciative of our wonderful family. We are very lucky. Just said a prayer for you guys.
Love, Beth
Scott and Regan,We just saw Eric at Tower with his friends, and he had a nice talk with Tim. What your Mom is going through is common-with the decreased insight into her deficits-her brain and her body are not in sync. Just keep an eye on the depression-her Dr. there will be able to prescribe something to keep her going. She has come a long ways and has a ways to go yet. You all have been so amazing and loving-you need to take care of yourselves so that you are strong. Mary needs time to heal.
Scott, Mary & family
Sounds like all in all Mary had a good day. I know it had to be tough for you all to see her like this but I have faith in her & she can do this. Scott you are such a loving & devoted husband as we all see this in your blog. Mary loves you and appreciates you. Regan thanks for writing to us to keep us informed. Dad does need a break & you are doing a great job filling in. We readers appreciate that. We all can't be there so this helps us cope with Mary's recovery as well, for that we thank you both. We all love Mary just as you do & pray each & every day for her recovery.

Hi Berryman family,
Thanks so much Regan for the update on your Mom. You are doing a fantastic job filling in for your dad when he needs the break. The limitations that you are seeing with Mary are normal but it sounds as if she is doing really well. She has the drive and I know she has the motivation to keep going in the right direction. We were glad to hear that your dad and you are getting a short break and coming home for a short time. It will give him a chance to recharge himself and maybe get a few hours of much needed rest. He is such a devoted husband and obviously loves his family unconditionally. Make sure that you all take time to take care of yourselves too and let us know if you need anything. You know all you have to do is call anytime of the day or night.
We love you guys!
